The Job
Council is seeking 2 competent, energetic, enthusiastic and highly motivated people to undertake construction and maintenance duties within the Customer Services section of Engineering Services.
Primarily these roles involve carrying out general maintenance duties in the repair of roadways, driveways, footpaths, kerbing, signage, foreshores, structures and other areas under the care, control and management of Council, or to undertake slashing, tree planting and/or trimming, irrigation, ‘parks and gardens’ duties and any other necessary duties as required.
Position Details
Two full time, permanent positions.
Salary classified as Municipal Employee Level 5, (commencing at $ 775.50/week or $ 40,326.00 pa) in accord with the District Council of Yorke Peninsula / Local Government Employees Union Collective Agreement No 1, 2007, with conditions pursuant to the Agreement and Policies & Procedures as amended from time to time.
Both positions will be based on a 76-hour, 9-day fortnight, with a Rostered Day Off available each fortnight.
This is an ideal opportunity for hands-on individuals with truck driving skills to take hold of the opportunity to make a difference to the parks, amenities and infrastructure of the area, while working with a very progressive, Quality Assured, Award winning regional Council.
The Person
Able to deliver a high standard of customer service, carry out general maintenance duties and preferably have previous experience operating Council plant and equipment.
Possess a current HR Drivers Licence and it will be desirable that they possess a Competency Standard in Load Shifting equipment.
Location
Because Council operates from more than one depot, although one position will operate primarily from the Maitland Depot and one position will operate primarily from the Yorketown Depot, the successful applicants will commence duties from any nominated Council wide depot or location as directed.

The Job
Funding has been received from the Office of Public Transport to support volunteers in the provision of an effective community transport service within the 3 Councils areas in the Yorke Peninsula region.
Key tasks include liaising with volunteers, facilitating their training and recruiting new volunteers.
Position Details
Full-time contract to 30 June 2013.
Salary classified as General Officer Level 3 (GO3 commences at $ 47,608 full-time pa) ) in accord with the District Council of Yorke Peninsula/Municipal Officers Union Collective Agreement No 1, 2007 and Policies & Procedures as amended from time to time.
