The District Council of Yorke Peninsula is a Quality Assurance organization, following an independent audit conducted late June, 2001.
Council was assessed against the recently revised ISO 9001:2000 standard, and is the first Council in South Australia to have its full scope of operations assessed in this way, In fact we are the second council in Australia to be assessed under the newly revised standard by an accredited auditor.
Mayor Robert Schulze (Mayor at the time of Accreditation) said
Quality Assurance means that Council has refined its system to ensure that all its services are delivered on a consistent basis and at the same standard across the entire Council area. Mechanisms to record all suggestions and complaints from ratepayers have been formalised, and it is Council's aim to reduce the response time in these instances.
Mayor Schulze went on to say that
Complaints and suggestions received will still be considered against budget availability and Council's strategic direction. In some cases requests will not be able to be met, if funding etc is not available, but generally Council will be endeavoring to address and comply with requests where possible.Council believes that as it's Quality Assurance System is independently audited, this will place more emphasis on seeking to continue to look for new ways to improve its service delivery.
 Online Certificate
Council documentation reflects its Quality Assurance status, with the TQCSI logo and standard appearing on correspondence and reports issued by Council.
Council is justifiably proud of this achievement, but has not rested upon its laurels, continuing to strive to improve its systems and service delivery.
