The Yorke Peninsula Council conducts conferral ceremonies for approved Australian Citizenship applicants residing in the council area. Ceremonies are arranged when the Council is advised by the Department of Immigration and Border Protection that there are applicants available for conferral in the council area. Queries about citizenship applications, citizenship ceremonies and citizenship certificates can be addressed to the Department of Immigration and Border Protection by phone to 131880 or by email to Adelaide.Citizenship@border.gov.au.

Council is unable to organise a citizenship ceremony without being advised first by the Department of Immigration. There may be a lapse in time between individual participants being notified by the Department and Council receiving that advice.
Once Council has received notification from the Department, you will be contacted by a Council Officer to organise a convenient time for the formal ceremony to take place. It is essential that the ceremony arrangements comply with the requirements of the Citizenship Code and the Officer will discuss this with you on that first contact.
